RBC Canadian Open 2024 Picks
Fairway’s Favorites: Burns, Clark, Koepka, Alex Fitzpatrick, Lowry
Fairway’s Longshots: Mitchell, Hall, Hughes, Bridgeman, Brennan
Fairway Flyers: J. Smith, Baucho
Tournament Match-ups: Clark (-115) over MacIntyre (SuperBook).
We faded MacIntyre last week at the Memorial, and he missed the cut badly. Unfortunately, our matchup play on Fowler over Bobby Mac lost when Fowler fkd up worse. I’ve been locating select matchups against MacIntyre since The Masters, while isolating top players and profiles to assist us when wagering. MacIntyre has missed 3 cuts since then and failed to crack a top 40 finish in three other events while struggling on his approach play. Clark finished top 3 last week in The Memorial at Muirfield Village while ranking No. 1 in strokes gained Tee-to-Green and Approach.
Year-to-date PGA tournament matchups are 19-11 following a tough 1-2 result in last week’s Memorial Tournament. Easy underdog winner on Tommy Fleetwood (+121) in his matchup, and Fleetwood also finished top 5 for a posted top 20 finish winner. But Ludvig Aberg made two double bogey’s on the back 9 Sunday, including a double on No. 18 to lose his matchup by 1 stroke. We also had longshot Sam Burns in our posted picks, and he finished top 5 and his form and fit look good again this week in Toronto, although at substantially lower odds. Our best tournament matchup week remains 4-0 in the 2026 Cognizant Classic.
Next week it’s the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills followed by the final Signature Event of the year to close June at TPC River Highlands for the Travelers Championship. More golf betting opportunities and ways to win plus current form strokes gained stats plus player profiles ahead for more majors.

More than a decade ago I was a lead golf handicapper and analyst on a popular sports handicapping radio show out of Las Vegas whose picks were provided to a betting syndicate. I continue my golf coverage in a different format, and provide my experience and intuitive feel for the game and betting acumen to provide golf picks and chip-in added insight with information you can bet on.
This season, I’ll again shoot to add select Round 1 matchup bets. I may limit tournament matchups posted on these pages, but have more available to those bettors that chip-in and wish to correspond with me directly. You can email me at FairwayJay@gmail.com for more picks and information you can bet on. Having been a proven performer for decades, I’ve posted picks in 2021 and 2022 on Vegas Sports Zone and tournament match-ups were 41-27.
2022 PGA Tour tournament match-up picks finished 20-12 and concluded with the TOUR Championship.
The 2021 tournament match-ups finished 21-15 following a 17-5 start January through May.
