Fairway’s Football Forecast – NFL 2026 Week 2 Betting Report
NFL Week 2 is always one of my favorites as I look back at perfection reflection from a 2009 season in which I posted, picked and provided written and radio analysis of a 10-0 ATS week. Hard to believe, but it happened, along with 8-straight third-party documented winning NFL seasons (57% ATS) during that time along with 7 consecutive seasons of 57% ATS results posting NFL underdogs only at Off Shore Gaming Association starting in 2017. That included some strong runs of 7-0 ATS in Week 14 of the 2023 season and 11-1 ATS with 9 outright underdog winners in December, 2023. The NFL 70% ATS season in 2021 was one to remember, along with a 65% debut season and proven, sustained performances with 8-straight winning NFL season’s many years ago prior to U.S. sports betting legalization. But in the ‘what have you done for me lately’, I don’t worry any longer about selling picks, which ended more than 15 years ago. I now chip-in and focus on winning ways and providing more information you can bet on for fans and sports betting enthusiasts. In the ‘what have you done for me lately’, I don’t worry any longer about selling picks, which ended more than 15 years ago, but focus on winning ways and providing more information you can bet on for fans and sports betting enthusiasts.

No surprise that the early bet counts from top online sportsbook BetOnline shows the popular favorites taking the most bets including the Eagles (91%), Buccaneers (73%), 49ers (69%) as big favorites -9 to -13′ points along with the Seahawks (76%) off their Wed. Week 1 win extra rest and preparation for surprise Week 1 winner Arizona, who returns to Glendale for their home opener.
Five more division games in NFL Week 2 action including on some of our Picks and Opinions.
Bears (1-0) vs. Vikings (1-0)
Cardinals (1-0) vs. Seahawks (1-0)
Falcons (0-1) vs. Panthers (0-1)
Cowboys (0-1) vs. Commanders (0-1)
Chargers (0-1) vs. Raiders (1-0)
Week 2 underdogs in matchups of 0-1 teams are 65% ATS since 2003.
Week 2 underdogs of less than 7-points are 44-17 ATS since 2016, per VSiN. If those teams are coming off a Week 1 loss, it zooms to 26-6 ATS. That tightener fits the Falcons, Commanders and Colts.

Opinions
Patriots (-5)
Browns (+8.5)
Cardinals (+4)
Green Bay at New York – Follow the NFL weather including in East Rutherford, where rain is definitely in the forecast Sunday. More game analysis in our initial Week 2 Tips, Totals, Teasers and Trends report with the Jets ground game and defense in play for a home ‘Dog call.
Pittsburgh at New England – The Steelers offense offense ranked 30th in EPA per play (-0.30) and worst in the league in success rate (32.8%) last week with a bailout Pick 6 by J.J. Watt to win 20-13 over a rudderless Falcons offense. The Patriots figure to have the better of it on the ground with Henderson returning to join Stevenson for a solid punch after rushing 31 times for 109 yards at Seattle last week. Three INT’s by QB Drake Maye were costly in a 13-10 defeat, and there is concern with Maye’s struggles (playoffs) against stronger defenses and pressure including the Steelers.

Cleveland at Tampa Bay – Contrary call on the bumbling bro quarterback and Browns, who had the worst success rate in Week 1 games and were pathetic in their 34-10 Week 1 loss at Jacksonville while running just 49 plays on offense. Positive situational spot and systems suggest better bounce back results. Buccaneers offense just 282 yards last week with 4 turnovers the difference in defeat at Cincinnati. Just you, me and the lone ranger saddling back up on the Browns this week in Tampa, where rain showers and thunderstorms are also likely Sunday.
Cincinnati at Houston – The Texans top defense was picked apart by Josh Allen and the Bills last week in a 36-31 defeat. The depressed line below a FG has us supporting a bounce back on the Texans with our rushing projections showing a solid edge. I know it’s QB Burrow vs. the Bro, who cost us with his turnovers in last year’s playoffs. Texans QB C.J. Stroud did have 2 fumbles lost last week (0 INT’s) which proved costly again, but the Bengals benefitted from 4 Bucs turnovers last week and Burrow and the Bengals offense registered a slightly negative EPA for the game with a league average 5.6 yards per play.

Washington at Dallas – Check out this NFC East rivalry and game analyis in our Week 2 Tips, Totals, Teasers and Trends report below. Dallas has cashed in six of their last seven as division home favorite, and the Cowboys are on a longterm run of 20-1 SU and 17-4 ATS under QB Prescott as a division home favorite. Quarterback Dak Prescott has lost only twice in 15 career starts against Washington with one of those a meaningless season finale when the Cowboys had already clinched a playoff spot. Did you know that the SU winner of a NFL game in competitvely-lined contests (6 or less) went 11-1-1 ATS in Week 1, and the Bills made it 12-1-1 ATS following their Week 2 Thursday win? That includes 89% ATS last season, near the 5-year average. The Cowboys will bounce back off an emotional Giants win last week and command the line of scrimmage against a Commanders offensive line that ranked dead last (No. 32) by Pro Football Focus to start this season, and No. 25 along the defensive front and just allowed 136 rushing yards to the Eagles at 5.4 yards per rush.
Seattle at Arizona – Are the Cardinals much better than projected in 2026 with their impressive road win as +9 at Los Angeles against the Chargers? The bottom-3 ranked defensive line at Pro Football Focus held the Chargers to 81 rushing yards on 21 attempts. Bro QB Brissett was solid with 73% completion rate, 277 yards and 7.5 yards per pass. Add in a running game of Allgeier and rookie Love that combined for more than 100 yards and we’ll add an opinion on the Cardinals knowing Seattle has extra rest and prep and the advance line on this game ahead of the season was nearly a TD higher. That’s also due to Seahawks backup QB Drew Lock now the starter but Seattle still stronger at receivers and special teams.
Indianapolis at Kansas City – A putrid performance by the Colts in a Week 1 onslaught by the Ravens (506 yards) along with the Chiefs dominant AFC West win over the Broncos on Monday Night Football sets up this positive ATS profile in competitively lined contests (less than 7 points) that is 26-6 ATS since 2016 (VSiN).
Player Props
JAX-DEN – Broncos WR Courtland Sutton under 40.5 receiving yards (opinion). This number has slightly dipped, and Sutton is no longer a key target in the Denver offense. His 2 catches for 11 yards in Week 1 were a concern considering the Broncos trailed and had to throw more. Tight End Evan Engram remains QB Bo Nix’ blanket, and new big signing WR Jaylen Waddle will be better after a terrible Week 1 performance (1 catch, 2 yards). Second-year receiver Pat Bryant tied with Engram for team-high 4 receptions in Week 1, and was Nix’ top initial first-read last week. With more focus on the running game, other receivers and RB Harvey catching more balls out of the backfield with Nix throwing more underneath, Sutton’s slide and production is likely to continue downward.
Week 1 player props 2-0 (0-1 opinion).
Parlays
2-team parlay – Texans, Cowboys,
2-team ‘Dog parlay – Jets, Colts
Stats and ATS Notes
High-scoring Week 1 (49.4 ppg) continued into Thursday Night Football kickoff Week 2 with the Bills 41-31 win. Teams that won the running game (by 30+ yards) went 11-3 SU and 10-3-1 ATS while teams that rushed the ball at least 30 times went 11-4 SU and 11-3-1 ATS. The Bills were another winner Thursday with 203 rushing yards on 36 carries in another dominant pound the ground win.
The Jets, Patriots, Ravens and Texans project to have a solid rushing game edge in the matchups at the point of attack with the Rams also likely in a big bounce back spot with extra rest and prep and ground game edge. More matchups and review along with injury reports and any additions over the weekend.
See our Week 2 Tips, Totals, Teasers and Trends report for more Tips, Picks and Opinions with information you can bet on along with more game analysis of the Commanders/Cowboys and Packers/Jets. We kicked off Week 2 with a high-scoring win in the Bills 41-31 win over the Lions, and shoot for more fairways and greens on the pro football gridiron.
