Perfection Reflection – NFL 10-0 Week 2

History shows that Week 2 in the NFL invariably provides more surprises and upsets, along with some focused and determined efforts as teams try to avoid starting the season 0-2. There is inevitably some significant line adjustments from the Week 2 lookahead lines, and adjustments by the bookmakers to Week 1 results. In the 2009 season, I found the sweet spot with 10 picks posted publicly and provided to a client base at the time, and went 10-0 ATS on our NFL Week 2 picks.

Following a mixed bag or results in Week 1 that included a WTF opening night total in the Eagles 24-20 win over the Cowboys on Thursday, two other teams blew double-digit 4th quarter leads in defeat with the Ravens losing 41-40 to the Bills in Buffalo Sunday night, and the Bears blowing a 17-6 lead to the Vikings at home in a 27-24 defeat. Those two games went over the game total, but Over/Unders were just 4-12 in Week 1.

Beyond the 10-0 ATS in Week 2 years ago, I had a run of 8-straight winning seasons in NFL point spread prognosis – handicapping strategies and stories provided to a national radio audience and in Las Vegas.

Starting with U.S. legalization of sports betting in 2018, I had a 7-year run from 2017-2023 of 57% ATS posting NFL underdog picks at Off Shore Gaming Association and Vegas Sports Zone while contributing to Forbes and a larger audience.  That included a 70% ATS season in 2021 plus a 11-1 ATS finish in the 2023 season that included a 7-0 ATS (plus a push) in Week 14.
