Woods announced Sunday that he’s “a game-time decision” to compete against 90 other golfers at The Masters, and then on Tuesday at Augusta National Woods said ““As of right now, I feel like I am going to play.” Woods’ Masters odds 2022 are 50/1, and he won’t win as a longshot with 12 top golfers leading the way as favorites with most showing proven performance and strong history competing at Augusta National.
Don’t waste your money for a win wager on Woods, although on Tuesday DraftKings reported that Tiger had taken 13% of win bets and received 15% of the total outright handle – more than twice every golfer in the field except Justin Thomas (7% and 8%). Woods is among the top 3 in win tickets at Caesars Sportsbook, and currently fifth in dollars wagered to win.
“If I had to guess, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Woods close at 20/1 or 25/1,” Caesars Assistant Director of Trading Adam Pullen said.
At BetMGM, Woods’ odds to win have dropped to 40/1, and he’s taken more than 7.5% of the bets and money – No. 3 in handle behind Brooks Koepka and Patrick Cantlay.
The 2022 Masters would be Woods’ first official PGA Tournament competition since the 2020 Masters and following serious injuries suffered in his car crash in Feb., 2021.
I’ve added more Masters coverage at Forbes, PlayUSA and Offshore Gaming Association, where I provide odds and betting beyond the favorites along with some longshots that could challenge for the Green Jacket and make their way towards the leaderboard on the weekend.
In my Masters coverage for PlayUSA, Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy make the list of best players to not win a green jacket in my PlayUSA coverage in Georgia. And we’ll be watching to see if there are more memorable moments in Masters history at the 2022 edition of The Masters.

Masters Picks 2022
Be sure to check back on Wednesday ahead of the tournament for match-ups and additional betting picks and updates, as well as throughout the tournament. This page will be updated as I add more content and Masters coverage. Last year we went 2-0 on our Masters tournament match-ups as part of our 17-5 start to the season. Recall in the 2020 Masters we had both Dustin Johnson (winner) and Roy McIlroy (T5) as match-ups winners over over-hyped Bryson DeChambeau.
This year, we’re 8-3 on tournament match-ups following last week’s easy winner in the Valero Texas Open fading Bryson DeChambeau (cut).
Fairway’s Favorites: Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele
Fairway’s Longshots: Corey Connors, Tony Finau, Joaquin Niemann, Si Woo Kim, Billy Horschel
Tournament Match-ups: Brooks Koepka (+120) over Scottie Scheffler and Joaquin Nieman (-112) over Hideki Matsuyama (FanDuel), BB Billy Horschel (-110) over Gary Woodland (BetMGM)
Update: Another chip-in on Forbes, with Scottie Scheffler dominating through 36 holes and a 5-shot lead into weekend. Sportsbook data, stats and more.
Top tourney match-up Connors over Woodland (+8, cut) in the bag with fade of Woodland missing the cut. Koepka (value?) no good against Scheffler!
Check back for more updates and information you can bet on.
Post Masters update: Scottie Scheffler continues his remarkable season with his fourth win of the PGA Tour season and first Major title. He dominated the 2022 Masters with a 10-under score of 278 and 3-shot victory. Scheffler led the Masters field in Strokes Gained: Around the Green and Scrambling.
Our tournament match-ups went 1-2 with top play winner on Billy Horschel. And a top 20 finishing position winner on Rory McIlroy, who finished 2nd and moved up from T9 into Sunday with a final round 64 – the only bogey-free round of the entire tournament and McIlroy’s 64 tied the lowest final round in Masters history.
Tournament match-ups now 9-5 this year heading to Harbour Town. for the RBC Heritage.
