Top Pitchers and Cy Young
Some of the top pitchers in baseball are worth watching in the divisional round on the way to the World Series. Then there are the elite, and Cy Young winners yet to be announced.
Jacob Misiorowski: The Brewers 24-year-old dominated opposing hitters while leading Milwaukee to a new franchise single-season wins record (103). The the top starter in baseball this season on his way to winning the to-be-announced Cy Young. Misiorowski (16-5) leads the majors in ERA (1.86), opponent’s batting average (.180) and strikeouts (252) in 30 starts. He allowed just 96 hits in 174.2 innings.
Cam Schlittler: Also in just his second year pitching in the Big Leagues lis Misiorowski, Schlittler (14-5) started 33 games and then won his opening playoff game again vs. the Red Sox. The 25-year-old flamethrower touches 100 mph on his fastball, and has a trio of fastball shapes, throwing them at the highest rate (89.3%) of any starting pitcher. Schlittler posted a 1.95 ERA with 129 hits allowed across 193.2 innings with 239 strikeouts, just behind 27-year-old Gavin Williams (248) of the Guardians, who won 14 games and pitched 184 innings with a 3.76 ERA in his fourth Big League season.
Tarik Skubal: It’s really unfair that the Dodgers riches were able to add another dominant starting pitcher at the trade deadline. But with the massive money and budgets, the 29-year-old Skubal goes from Detroit to Los Angeles after winning the American League Cy Young in both 2024 and 2025. Skubal (12-7) made 26 starts this season in his 7th MLB season, 10 with the Dodgers (2.61 ERA). Overall in 2026, Skubal posted a 2.72 ERA with 186 strikeouts in 155.2 innings.
