It’s nearing tee time in Tulsa for the 104th PGA Championship. The 2022 event returns to Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, and the most competitive field has a tough challenge in the second major. A look at the PGA Championship 2022 odds shows the elite players shooting for the Wanamaker Trophy along with Tiger Woods as he plays his second tournament of 2022.

I chip-in more coverage for the event including at FanDuel and The Duel Sports with some dark horse picks from Monday along with three early bets to win.
Shane Lowry (+3700)
Lowry’s odds to win the 2022 PGA Championship have been plummeting for months. The 35-year-old Irishman and 2019 Open Champion has four top-3 finishes on the PGA Tour this year and is No. 3 on Tour in birdie average. He’s not too good putting on bentgrass greens, but his approach play has been elite. With more unknown bounces and uneven lies on the longer Southern Hills course, Lowry can contend with his touch, superb sand play and required skills on and around the greens.
Daniel Berger (+5200)
Berger’s consistent game and solid stats in Approach, Tee-to-Green and Ball Striking make him a dark horse threat. He tied for 6th in the tough conditions on par 70 comp course at Shinnecock Hills for the 2018 U.S. Open, and the 29-year-old has elevated his game since then as a top-25 player in the world rankings.
Tommy Fleetwood (+10500)
As the winds pick up and the temperatures dip Friday and Saturday, Fleetwood is a proven performer in wind and tougher conditions. He finished 2nd in the 2018 U.S. Open on a comparable course with a sizzling final round to finish one shot behind Brooks Koepka, who won with a +1 final score. Fleetwood’s Around the Green game remains a strength, and he does have five top-25 finishes on Tour since March.
Will Zalatoris (+4300)
A first PGA Tour win at a Major Championship? If his sub-par putting emerges, why not? Zalatoris is an elite Ball Striker and strong Tee-to-Green player, ranking top 3 on Tour in both stats his last 50 rounds. Add in top 15 in Off-the-Tee and Approach, and this talented golfer can contend in a Major again as he did in 2021 finishing second at The Masters and T8 at the PGA Championship.
I’ll be adding to the PGA Championship coverage and this page leading up to the tournament. Check back for more picks and additional information you can bet on for golf and the 2022 PGA Championship.
PGA Championship Picks
Fairway’s Favorites: Thomas, Cantlay, McIlroy, Schauffele
Fairway’s Longshots: Zalatoris, Berger, Finau, Fleetwood
Tournament Match-ups: Tommy Fleetwood +(-130) over Gary Woodland (Circa)
Tournament match-ups are 12-6 this year following last week’s tough push in the AT&T Byron Nelson. Additional sports book betting data as available and updated Wednesday ahead of tournament
Next week it’s the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial CC in Fort Worth, TX, where we cashed a big underdog match-up winner last year to improve to 17-5 on tournament match-ups to start 2021.
Post PGA Championship update: Wow. Bad luck and misfortune for certain for our outright win bets. A 1-shot lead for Pereira standing on the 72nd hole. A par and we cash in at 200/1. A double-bogey on 18 after hitting his tee shot in the water and a final round of 75 costs Pereira his first Tour and major win. Pereira had the longest active streak on Tour with 19 rounds of par of better into Sunday’s final round.
We still had Will Zalators for a 4-figure payday to win, and he loses in a playoff to Justin Thomas, who we had a pizza slice bet to win at 17/1 as our only favorite bet below 20/1. Tournament match-up winner on Fleetwood runs the record to 13-6 this year.
