Sweet 16 No. 1 Seeds Are 18-1 SU In Last Six NCAA Tournaments

Time to dance into the Sweet 16, and three No. 1 seeds remain – Gonzaga, Arizona and Kansas after defending national champion and No. 1 seed Baylor bowed out in the Round of 32 following an exciting opening round.

I’ve chipped in some Sweet 16 coverage on Forbes, and also Off Shore Gaming Association with schedule, odds, futures and top seed profiles and insight.

I’ve also added some March Madness insight and info on the Sweet 16 match-up along with odds and futures at TheLines.

Mattress Mack’s $1 million bet on the East Region (+260) to win the NCAA Tournament took a big hit with No. 1 Baylor and No. 2 Kentucky getting bounced in the opening rounds. Looking at the adjusted futures prices to win the 2022 NCAA Tournament on FanDuel Sportsbook and you see No. 3 Purdue (+800), No. 4 UCLA (+1500), No. 8 North Carolina (+3200) and No. 15 St. Peter’s (+15000) remain for Mattress Mack to win $2.6 million.

Sweet 16

No. 1 Seeds

No. 1 seeds have won the last four NCAA Tournaments, and gone 18-1 SU in the Sweet 16 since 2015 including 3-0 SU/ATS last year.  See the breakdown below, but No. 1 seeds are now 88-23 SU in the Sweet 16 since 1985, including 73-23 SU vs. teams seeded #4 or #5. Until 2015, #1 seeds were getting bounced out of this round going back to 2010, but in the last six editions, they have dominated going 18-1 SU and 14-5 ATS in the Sweet 16 (or 14-4-1 as Gonzaga line closed -3 in 2017).
