How To Bet The 2021 Sony Open

Sony Open Players, Picks, Odds, Analysis and Betting Information

The Sony Open is the first full-field PGA Tour event of the year, and I’ve chipped in Sony Open coverage at TheLines and also added picks, match-ups and more golf event coverage and information you can bet on at Offshore Gaming Association.

Check out the articles for more stats and strokes gained data as you shoot for fairways and green in your pursuit of profit at the Sony Open in heavenly Honolulu.

While the leading golfers and favorites take most the bets and money at weekly PGA Tour events, it’s worth noting that BetMGM reported Sungjae Im and Daniel Berger have each taken nearly 14% of the win money (handle) and a combined 21% of bets on all players to win the Sony Open.

Odds from the Las Vegas SuperBook to win the 2021 Sony Open.

My golf coverage and research includes use and references from sites at Golf Stats along with Fantasy National and Data Golf. I gain added information from contacts and golf insiders like Justin Ray Golf. The site Golf Stats has also added a new player competitor tool along with their past performance charts that show players finishing position and score in each PGA Tour event going back more than a decade.

I put it all together and add my intuitive feel for the game and betting acumen to provide golf picks and chip-in added insight with information you can bet on.

Players to Win and Top Finishing Position (Top 5, 10, 20)

Fairway’s Favorites: Berger, Im, Kisner
Fairway’s Longshots: Gooch (+9000), Henley (+4000), Leishman (+6600), NeSmith (+10000)

Matthew NeSmith has win odds ranging from 95/1 to 135/1 at a number of leading online sportsbooks like legal U.S. sportsbooks FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM and William Hill. So when you wager to win on players, it’s even more important to shop and bet the better prices as able. Big lonshots are usually priced as such due to more flaws in their game. Yet so many PGA Pros are immenstly talented and there is just too many players that can break through or contend at longer odds that makes betting on the favorites less desireable (along with the house hold). You will also see less big lonshots in tournament match-ups, but can catch some in daily match-ups if they are in contention over the weekend. SG: Approach numbers put NeSmith in the top 15% of this field. He also ranks top 5 in SG: Tee-to-Green over his last 24 rounds. Looking for a better finish than his 32nd spot on debut last year. Top 20 finish show odds of +350 on NeSmith and +400 for top 20 position after Round 1 at select leading online sportsbooks.

I’ll chip-in PGA Tour coverage and event infomation, picks and other information you can bet on as the 2021 golf season continues. That includes on the majors starting with the Masters Tournament in April.

For years I was a featured guest and handicapper on a very popular daily sports betting and handicapping radio show in Las Vegas. The show was heard in more than 50 top arbitron markets in the U.S. and then to SiriusXM radio. I covered many major sports and was the PGA Tour and golf specialist.

That was well before the Vegas Stats & Information Network (VSiN) and the big companies, bookmakers and incredicble growth of sports betting and golf due to the legalization of sports betting in 2018.

I enjoy covering, betting and handicapping golf, and have made a number of connetions and references to top golf analysts, golf sites and leading online sportsbooks and directors. Through my coverage and connections, we’ll shoot to provide added insight, bettting coverage and tips on the growing sport of golf and the many betting opportunties offered during each weekly event.

You can bet on it.
