Sony Open 2025 Odds, Picks And Props

The Sony Open is the first full-field PGA Tour event of the year, and I’ve chipped in Sony Open 2025 odds and coverage at Forbes with a tournament preview and information you can bet on. Check out more in the article with tee times, featured groups, course info, picks and betting info beyond what’s provided here at Vegas Sports Zone.

Following last week’s Sentry event in Maui, that included a record-scoring win by Hideki Matsuyama (-35) over Collin Morikawa (-32) with final round coverage and adjusted odds, I chip in more PGA Tour golf coverage with picks, props and matchups of interest.

Last week’s Sentry was played on the 3rd longest tour course (7,596 yards – par 73) and this week’s Waialae course is the 5th-shortest on tour (7,044 – par 70).

How To Understand Golf Betting Statistics And Strokes Gained

Over the past decade, winners of the Sony Open at the 7,044-yard Par 70 Waialae CC have gained more than 40% of their strokes Putting – among the top-5 highest rates of any PGA Tour course in that stretch.

Sony Open 2025 Picks

Fairway’s Favorites: Henley, Conners, Kim, Pendrith
Fairway’s Longshots: Clanton, Straka, Berger, Cole

Tournament Matchups: Pendrith (-110) over Poston (FanDuel)

Update: Penrith wins a pair of tournament matchups for us. He’s -5 and T28 into Round 3, and both Poston and Hun An missed the cut. More tournament updates, scores, odds and information you can bet on in my weekend PGA coverage of Sony Open in Forbes.

There may be fewer tournament matchup picks posted in 2025 with coverage across various platforms. I’ll try to add more picks and props and update more coverage as time allows and I dig deeper into strokes gained stats and weekly tournaments. Reach me directly at [email protected] for questions and select picks I bet on beyond what’s posted here.

Next week it’s The American Express in La Quinta, CA, where we cashed in big ‘Dog tournament matchup winner on Cantlay over Scheffler in 2024, and favorite matchup on Eric Cole. In 2023 it was a Round 1 winner on Cameron Young on our only posted play. We also cashed a tournament matchup winner on Doug Ghim over Andrew Landry (cut) in the 2022 American Express tournament.

Golf Betting Notes and History from FairwayJay

My golf coverage and research includes use and references from sites at Golf Stats along with Fantasy National, and Data Golf. I gain added information and betting news with fantasy golf insight from FanShare Sports and other sites and golf analysts. That includes top golf insider Justin Ray Golf, who contributes to PGA Tour (dot com) and The Athletic with insightful stats. The site GolfStats has also has player performance charts and a player competitor tool plus added stats and previews.

More than a decade ago I was a lead golf handicapper and analyst on a popular sports handicapping radio show out of Las Vegas whose picks were provided to a betting syndicate. I continue my golf coverage in a different format, and provide my experience and intuitive feel for the game and betting acumen to provide golf picks and chip-in added insight with information you can bet on.

This season, I’ll again shoot to add more Round 1 matchup bets. I will limit tournament matchups posted on these pages, but have more available to those bettors that chip-in and wish to correspond with me directly. You can email me at [email protected] for more picks and information you can bet on. Having been a proven performer for decades, I’ve posted picks in 2021 and 2022 on Vegas Sports Zone and tournament match-ups were 41-27.

2022 PGA Tour tournament match-up picks finished 20-12 and concluded with the TOUR Championship.

The 2021 tournament match-ups finished 21-15 following a 17-5 start January through May.
