Raiders-Chiefs 2024 NFL Week 8 Preview And Picks

Weekend update and coverage of Raiders-Chiefs 2024 NFL Week 8 contest at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. I provide a Las Vegas Raiders feature in Forbes including record-setting rookie TE Brock Bowers in the Week 8 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Las Vegas Raiders traded WR Davante Adams to the New York Jets prior to Week 7, and the Kansas City Chiefs acquired WR DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans this week and he’ll suit up and play against the Raiders.

My Week 8 NFL underdog picks are posted, and includes the Raiders (2-5), who try to snap a 3-game losing streak in their game against the Chiefs (6-0). The Raiders will be a big ‘Dog in Week 9 at Cincinnati with the lookahead line Bengals -9.5. The Raiders have a bye week in Week 10.

The Week 1 winner on the Chargers over the Raiders is long past as we’ve gone 2-3 ATS on Raiders Picks and Opinions this season.  But our Lean on the Raiders and Under both hit in Week 7 against the Rams.

Each week’s Raiders roundup and picks/opinions are separate, unless mentioned otherwise. I did include the Raiders as a Week 8 underdog pick despite the Raiders running game continuing to be among the worst in the NFL and rushing/total yards don’t project to positively this week against the Chiefs. See if a few +10’s pop Sunday, as were available earlier in the week.

But Kansas City is 1-10-1 ATS in their last 12 as a road favorite of 4 points or more following a win. They come off the big Super Bowl rematch win last week at San Francicso as well.

But the Raiders can do better, and the preseason line on this game was projected KC -5.5 at DraftKings in the Week 7 Raiders-Chiefs 2024 matchup.

A bright spot for the Raiders this season is rookie No. 1 pick, TE Brock Bowers. Pro Football Focus notes that Bowers leads all NFL pass-catchers with 32 receptions against zone coverage into Week 7. Bowers now leads all NFL tight ends through 7 weeks with 47 receptions for 477 yards.

NFL teams that win the game SU when the point spread is -6 or less are 74-9-2 ATS this season. It was greater than 90% last season at 148-15-3 ATS (where else would you get that info).
