PGA Odds, Picks And Props For 2025 The American Express
Following two events in Hawaii including last week’s Sony Open that saw longshot Nick Taylor make a chip-in eagle on No. 18 in the final round before winning in a playoff, the PGA Tour West Coast swing heads to La Quinta, CA for 2025 The American Express. I chip-in more extensive coverage in Forbes with added information you can bet on, and add picks below for our weekly PGA Tour betting coverage.
Golf Courses and Odds to Win 2025 The American Express
- Pete Dye Stadium Course – 7,187 yards, Par 72 (2 rounds including Sunday)
- Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course – 7,147 yards, Par 72
- La Quinta Country Club – 7,060 yards, Par 72
Winning score: over/under 259.5
Last year 1,128 birdies, 24 eagles on the Stadium Course (2 rounds), 803 birdies, 25 eagles on the Nicklaus Course and 713 birides and 29 eagles at La Quinta.
A total of 19 of the top-50 players in the OWGR are in the field, and they will produce birdies in bunches across the three courses. The Stadium Course at PGA West has new Tif-Eagle Bermuda greens that are 20-30% larger averaging about 7,000 square feet. Restored greenside bunkers are closer to the putting surfaces.
But before you fire in your outright win bets or top finishing position plays on the top players, know that Nick Dunlap won last year’s American Express tournament at odds of 400/1 at select sportsbooks – while becoming the first amateur to win on the PGA Tour since Phil Mickelson in 1991. Dunlap’s 29-under-par finish was the lowest winning score since the event went to 72 holes in 2012.

My golf coverage and research includes use and references from sites at Golf Stats along with Fantasy National, and Data Golf. I gain added information and betting news with fantasy golf insight from FanShare Sports and other sites and golf analysts. That includes top golf insider Justin Ray Golf, who contributes to PGA Tour (dot com) and The Athletic with insightful stats. More than a decade ago I was a lead golf handicapper and analyst on a popular sports handicapping radio show out of Las Vegas whose picks were provided to a betting syndicate. I continue my golf coverage in a different format, and provide my experience and intuitive feel for the game and betting acumen to provide golf picks and chip-in added insight with information you can bet on.
This season, I’ll again shoot to add more Round 1 matchup bets. I will limit tournament matchups posted on these pages, but have more available to those bettors that chip-in and wish to correspond with me directly. You can email me at [email protected] for more picks and information you can bet on. Having been a proven performer for decades, I’ve posted picks in 2021 and 2022 on Vegas Sports Zone and tournament match-ups were 41-27.
2022 PGA Tour tournament match-up picks finished 20-12 and concluded with the TOUR Championship.
The 2021 tournament match-ups finished 21-15 following a 17-5 start January through May.
