We won a winning score bet in last year’s 2024 Pebble Beach Pro-Am, despite the event being shortened to 54 holes and Wyndham Clark shooting 60 on Saturday and winning the event by 1-shot over Ludvig Aberg (-16). I also bet Clark to win at 2/1 odds a few holes prior to his Saturday round finish knowing severe weather was in play and the tournament could be called after 54 holes. Some leading online sportsbooks honored the bets, but those that placed bets after Clark’s Sat. round was completed had their bets voided.

Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2025

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2025 Picks

Fairway’s Favorites: Thomas, Cantlay, Im, Fleetwood
Fairway’s Longshots: Day, Pendrith, McNealy, Hossler

Tournament Match-up: Rory McIlroy (+150) over Scottie Scheffler (-180) – and Maverick McNealy -1.5 strokes (+115) over Sepp Straka –  BetOnline and Taylor Pendrith (-110) over Corey Conners (-110) – SuperBook

Round 1: Pendrith (-120) over Conners (BOL)

Post tournament update: Rory McIlroy (-21) wins AT&T Pebble Beach. I chipped in added coverage in Forbes, including a final round update. Initial article from Forbes link at top of this post provided tournament matchup analysis, which I’m providing below. Those two picks went 2-0. The tournament matchups on Vegas Sports Zone went 2-1, plus 1-0 on Round 1 winner. I bet all of them.

A real downside for Corey Conners is his propensity for poor putting on Poa greens. He ranks No. 74 in this field of 80 in putting on Poa over the last 24 rounds on such greens. That includes three events last year where he lost at least 1-stroke putting on Poa at the Travelers, Genesis and AT&T Pebble Beach. Compare that to Taylor Pendrith, who ranks No. 30 in Poa putting despite a poor week on those greens at the Farmers Insurance Open last week – his only negative stat where he was among the very best in the field in Tee to Green play to finish T7. Pendrith won the AT&T Byron Nelson last year, and he got better with top-15 finishes against strong fields in a pair of FedExCup events. His solid form has continued into 2025 with top-15 finishes in the Sentry along with the Farmers. The bookmaker has matched these two Canadian players up, which they often do with International players. But Pendrith rates much better than the pk ’em odds posted, and consider too that another leading online sportsbook has Pendrish -150 over Viktor Hovland, who has fallen off but was still a favorite at 12/1 to win this event last year.

Scottie Scheffler returns from hand surgery in December to make his 2025 debut. His game can’t be too sharp, and especially his short game and feel on the greens, where he too struggles more on Poa ranking No. 40 in this field. Scottie lost more than 4-strokes putting on Poa at last year’s Genesis, and gained slightly in this event last year. Rory McIlroy at this big underdog price is very favorable having played in competition last month in the DP World Tour Dubai event finishing T4. Now making his 2025 Tour debut, he’s a better option than Scheffler, and Rory has had some success at Pebble Beach including in the U.S. Open despite last year’s poor finish in the event.

Last year’s 2024 Pebble Beach Pro-Am we chipped-in and bet more winners including Cantlay over Morikawa, Cantlay top-20 and the Wyndham Clark win bets prior to him finishing his Saturday Round 3 and ultimately winning with the tournament cut short to 54 holes.

Chip-in for tournament additional match-up picks.

There may be fewer tournament matchup picks posted in 2025 with coverage across various platforms. I’ll try to add more picks and props and update more coverage as time allows and I dig deeper into strokes gained stats and weekly tournaments. Reach me directly at [email protected] for questions and select picks I bet on beyond what’s posted here.

Next week it’s the WM Phoenix Open during Super Bowl LIX week in New Orleans. We cashed in another matchup winner in last year’s Phoenix Open on Spieth (T6) over Homa (cut).
