NFL Week 10 Betting Recap and Roundup
More Surprises and Separation in NFL Week 10 Betting Recap
NFL sides weren’t the only struggles for public bettors, as the NFL Week 10 recap showed some solid favorites going down and also blowing up the teaser bets for many bettors.
I outlined and recapped the Week 10 games in my article at BetAmerica, noting that the Patriots (-7), and bet up Eagles (-8) along with the Falcons (-6) not only lost outright, but lost to .500 or less teams. Laying those points on the road are a long term losing proposition, and we cashed in on two home underdogs in our weekly Fairway’s Football Forecast underdog analysis, as the Titans pounded the Patriots 34-10 and the Browns bashed the Falcons 28-16. We completed our week with another outright underdog winner on Monday night when the New York Giants (+3) scored a late touchdown to beat the 49ers 27-23 in San Francisco. It was our second straight 3-1 ATS week on our ‘Dog log with six outright underdog winners out of eight plays the past two weeks and continued our winning NFL season of point spread prognosis selecting only underdogs.
The Sunday night win by Dallas over Philadelphia 27-20 was especially profitable for the sportsbooks, as a wave of betting on the Eagles kept driving the number higher.
Jimmy Vaccaro of the Southpoint sportsbook in Las Vegas said, “Everyone is on the Eagles. Wiseguys, the public, guys from Australia, buys from Antarctica, everybody.”
The Saints bashing of the Bengals 51-14 got Cincinnati’s defensive coordinator fired after his first 9 games on the job, and the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-6) are on their way to a first to worst finish in the AFC South following their fifth straight loss, 29-26 at Indianapolis.
