NFL Betting Podcast Week 6 with @FairwayJay
Each week on the NFL betting and handicapping podcast, FairwayJay will analyze the upcoming Sunday games and also provide his insight on the Thursday night contest. A brief recap of the previous week’s games will be analyzed and the results will be incorporated into the analysis and handicap of the current week’s games. If something happened over the weekend that has betting ramifications you can bet it’s being handicapped and covered by FairwayJay each week on the Vegas Sports Zone NFL betting podcast.
The NFL Betting Podcast Week 6 segment includes an opening segment and recap of the previous week’s games and impact of point spread results. FairwayJay then digs into the week 6 match-ups and provides ATS betting situations surrounding the teams and games on the week 6 card. Some match-ups show a disparity at the point of attack, and FairwayJay discusses which teams project to have success running the ball and stopping the run. Note that through week 5 games, teams that run the ball an average of 20 times or less per game are a combined 3-29 ATS this season, including 1-7 ATS in week 5! Dallas covered in home loss in a 51-48 shootout vs. Denver despite just 14 rush attempts for 52 yards. QB Tony Romo passed for 522 net yards! Four teams currently run the ball an average of 20 times or less per game: NY Giants, Steelers, Dolphins and Falcons. Those teams combine for an ATS record of 4-15 ATS.
FairwayJay provides insight, analysis and opinions on sides to support along with totals of interest. There are 3 division games on the Sunday, Week 6 card highlighted by the big NFC East division rivalry Sunday night when Dallas hosts Washington. Home underdogs went 5-3 ATS in week 5 on a big card for home ‘Dogs, and the week 6 card features 5 home underdogs including the Chargers on Monday night vs. the Colts. There are three double-digit favorites in week 6 with the undefeated Bronco’s a record 28-point favorite over the winless Jaguars (now 27.5 in Las Vegas – highest line since NFL/AFL merger in 1970). The Broncos and Saints remain the lone undefeated teams (5-0) while the Jaguars and NY Giants are winless at 0-5 while the Steelers and Buccaneers also still searching for their first win of the season at 0-4.
