MLB National League 2025 Baseball Odds And Key Games in August
Baseball Insights And MLB National League Key Games August 2025 With Information You Can Bet On
The push to the MLB playoffs continues into the final 50+ games of the 162-game regular season. The top teams in the National League make up the stronger stretch of baseball three tight division races and 6 the 10 teams with at least 60 wins playing in the National League.
I’ve updated the standings and records below through the end of July from my original coverage at Off Shore Gaming Association, and the Dodgers (+130) remain the favorite to win the NL Pennant followed by the Phillies (+475), Mets (+500), Cubs (+600), Brewers (+800) and Padres (+1000), according to odds from Caesars Sportsbook.
Plenty of deals were completed at the July 31 MLB trade deadline, and the Reds, Cardinals and Giants are the three teams chasing a Wild Card spot currently on the outside of the six-team playoff picture.

The Milwaukee Brewers (17-7) tied the AL Boston Red Sox for the best record in July, and I’ve provided those monthly records below along with key games in August and information you can bet on.

Key MLB National League 2025 August Series And Baseball Odds
Here are the MLB National League division records, top teams and matchups for August.
National League
NL Central
Milwaukee (64-44)
Chicago Cubs (63-45)
Cincinnati (57-53)
St. Louis (55-55)
Pittsburgh (47-62)
July records: MIL (17-7), CHI (14-10), CIN (13-11), STL (9-17), PIT (11-12)
The Brewers had the best record in the NL in June, and then took over the division lead in July with the best record again and took over the division lead from the Cubs. Milwaukee has the best record in baseball playing .598 ball with one game remaining in July against the Cubs. The Brewers (28-24) and Cubs (30-26) also have the best road records in the National League. The 60/40 rule of baseball and records is strong this season, as no MLB team is playing .600 baseball (2 teams last year into Aug), but Milwaukee has the best record into Aug. playing at a .593 winning clip. The Brewers got pounded by the Cubs 10-3 in the final game of July to drop their pitching staff from the top Earned Run Average in the NL with a 3.63 trailing the Padres (3.55) and Mets (3.61). The Cubs (+113) and Brewers (+95) also have the best run-differential in the NL, and the Cubs (-125) just past the Brewers (-105) as slight favorites to win the division (Caesars). The Reds and Cardinals are in the Wild Card chase but at least 3-game behind the Padres for the final WC spot.
NL East
NY Mets (62-47)
Philadelphia (61-47)
Miami (52-55)
Atlanta (46-62)
Washington (44-64)
July records: NYM (14-10), PHI (11-12), MIA (15-10), ATL (8-18), WSH (9-15)
The Mets and Phillies are the clear leaders in the NL East, and Philadelphia (+67) leads the division with the best run-differential ahead of New York (+43). The Mets (3.61) join the Padres and Brewers with the best pitching and ERA in the National League. The Phillies (-115) and Mets (-115) are currently co-favorites to win the division. Preseason NL contenders Atlanta Braves have been a major disappointment and on a 3-9 slide and awful month of July. The Mets (37-16) have the best home record in baseball with the other top-5 teams in the NL all with at least 33 home wins and playing at least .630 baseball at home.
NL West
LA Dodgers (63-46)
San Diego (60-49)
San Francisco (54-55)
Arizona (51-58)
Colorado (28-80)
July records: LAD (10-14), SD (15-10), SF (9-15), AZ (9-16), COL (9-15)
The Dodgers played losing baseball overall in July, and now lead the surging San Diego by just 3.0 games with Los Angeles (+67) sporting the best run-differential in the division ahead of San Diego (+32). The Dodgers are also top-2 in the NL with the Cubs in OPS, Slugging and batting average (.255), just ahead of the Phillies (.254). The Padres (3.55 ERA) pitching continues to be among the best in baseball while the Dodgers (4.23) are outside the top-20. Basetball superstar and Dodgers favorite Shohei Ohtani is the overwhelming choice to be NL Most Valuable Player. The Dodgers division odds (-1000) have dropped sharply in recent days with the Padres (+500) making up ground. The Giants & Diamondbacks
have fallen off badly with poor performances in July including Arizona on a 5-game losing streak and 1-8 to end the month.
