Farmers Insurance Open: Odds And Top Of The Market Players

In my betting tips at Torrey Pines update for the Farmers Insurance Open, I provide course information, golfers odds and information you can bet on. That includes looking beyond the top of the market players and adding some longshots.

I’ve also chipped-in a pair of tournament match-up bets as we look for Sungjae Im and Sam Burns to deliver us the birdies and green this week after we hit a pair of match-up winners last week at The American Express.

Along with my weekly PGA Tour event coverage at TheLines, I’ve add more Tee-to-Green betting coverage in my Farmers Insurance Open update at Forbes. This includes betting data on the most bet golfers at the Farmers Insurance Open.

No surprise many bettors are counting on the two favorites and first page of the leaderboard players in the World Golf Rankings. Rory McIlroy finished tied for third at last year’s Farmers Insurance Open, and Jon Rahm finished runner-up. Rahm also won the event in 2017.

I correspond as a media member with sportsbook operators, directors and publicity managers for leading online sportsbooks. Here is some of the betting data leading into the event.

Farmers Insurance Open Most Bet and Top of the Market Players

The top of the market golfers generate much betting interest each week on the PGA Tour. Yet those players at odds below +1000 like Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy offer no value and are more risk than reward.

Don’t tell that to a PointsBet bettor, who bet $19,000 on McIlroy (+750) for a return of $161,500. PointsBet has the best odds on Adam Scott to win, and he’s the most bet golfer followed by Gary Woodland (+6000) and Matthew Wolff (+3300). However, the most money is on McIlroy, Wolff and Brooks Koepka (+4000).

Tony Finau (+1900) leads the bet count and most money wagered to win (handle) at FanDuel Sportsbook. Xander Schauffele (+1300), Matthew Wolff and Jon Rahm (+700) are also popular plays.

BetMGM is high on McIlroy (+750) and Wolff, with each pulling in nearly 10% of the money in the outright win market.

DraftKings also has Wolff and Rahm leading in most money wagered to win.
