We enter January 10 NBA action on a 8-2 run in 2014 following the NY Knicks outright win over Miami last night. Since Christmas, the hot profit-producing NBA streak is 13-2-1 and includes back-to-back winning months in November and December. Our Top Rated Big Bertha plays are 4-0 this season. We squeezed out a free play winner on these pages last Friday pointing out how things can quickly change in the NBA with teams going from bad to good or vice versa and ATS streaks following. Tonight the lowly LA Lakers ( 14-22 ) enter on a 0-3 SU/ATS slide and losers of 9 of their last 10 games overall. Especially concerning is their dreadful defense that has allowed 113, 110 and 137 points their last three games. The LA Clippers ( 25-13 ) lead the Pacific division and must be looking forward to this match-up. Recall the Lakers blitzed the Clippers opening night 116-103 as the Lakers drilled 14 of 29 shots from the arch in that October 29th contest. But the Clippers will hold nothing back tonight on a court where they stand 16-3 SU and have the offensive production and defensive efficiency to win this game by a large margin playing with redemption.
The Lakers rank #29 int he league in rebounding rate and will struggle to contain both Blake Griffin ( 22 PPG, 52% FG, 10RPG ) and center DeAndre Jordan ( 13 RPG ). The Lakers are #3 in the NBA in pace rating and 9-0 over the total in their last nine games vs. a team with a winning record. But recent results show the Lakers struggles to contain teams and they are in trouble tonight again if they try to push the pace against the Clippers. Chris Paul continues to shine averaging 11 assists per game and 19 PPG, and going against a bottom-tier defense that is deficient should result in a one-sided contest tonight as the Lakers lack offensive production and clearly miss Kobe Bryant. Playing on 1-days rest, the Lakers enter on a 0-4 ATS slide while the Clippers are 8-3 ATS in that same situation. Like all good teams, the Clippers are only worried about themselves and not the Lakers. Tonight they light up the scoreboard against their city rival.
