Earlier this week I provided a article and analysis on National Title Favorites, and we’ll continue with Season Win Totals evaluations on some of the stronger college football teams from the SEC, Big Ten and Pac-12.
A big top-25 match-ups kicks off the college football season as South Carolina battles Texas A&M in SEC action, and much excitement for the ‘Cocks in Columbia as they rise to the occasion this season under head coach Steve Spurrier and push for a SEC title and national title playoff position. I’ve included my analysis on the South Carolina Gamecocks below along with other highly-rated teams.
Season win totals and wagering on the posted over/under numbers are more optimal for value-seeking professionals. While you tie-up your money over the course of the season, the chance for a winning wager is greater than betting on the national title winner for example. Top professionals also focus more on locating teams to bet under their season win total, as initial posted season win totals do not factor in the likelihood of injuries that occur throughout the season. While there is more risk wagering over a teams season win total, and especially the stronger-rated teams with higher totals, a proper evaluation of scheduling and opponents along with a good grasp on a team and future forecasting can become a winning wager.
