Badgers and Sun Devils Dual in the Desert
Plenty of scoring expected between Badgers and Sun Devils – by @FairwayJay
The Arizona State Sun Devils (1-0 SU, 1-0 ATS) host the Wisconsin Badgers (2-0 SU, 2-0 ATS) in a much anticipated late night game on ESPN Saturday night. Not a point has been scored against either of these defenses in 2013 as they played weaker opponents.
The Badgers new coach Gary Anderson has continued the pound the ground tradition at Wisconsin with 780 rushing yards in two games! A trio of running backs have all rushed for at least 100 yards in each of their two games. That type of running attack combined with a solid defense is usually the formula for wins and against the spread (ATS) success.
Arizona State is a 5.5-point favorite and the total has been bet up to 55. While Wisconsin coach Anderson is 10-1 ATS as underdog, 14-2 ATS as a road underdog and 16-3-1 ATS in non-conference games during his career, note that Arizona State head coach Todd Graham is now 9-5 ATS at ASU and on a 4-0 ATS run since the end of last year averaging 51 points per game (ppg). Graham has quickly made the Sun Devils into a Pac-12 contender following last year’s 8-5 finish.
The Sun Devils will count on All-American DT Will Sutton to clog the middle and slow the Badgers running game. On offense, ASU has a under-rated receiving core with some junior college influx. Along with solid senior RB Marion Grice, the offense can explode and stay balanced behind junior QB Taylor Kelly.
Here is the TV Analysis roundtable breakdown of Arizona State vs. Wisconsin.
Ride the offensive momentum and strength of these two teams in a higher-scoring Saturday night shootout.
