CFB Handicapping – SEC East Season Preview
SEC East Season Preview – Betting Futures Odds and Win Total
I’ve been reading, writing and researching plenty in preparation for the upcoming college football season. That includes providing season previews for various publications and online sites. Two weeks ago I posted my SEC West season preview of all seven teams. The SEC West is considered the best division in college football, and those teams went 11-4 against SEC East counterparts last season with only Georgia and Missouri beating teams from the West.
Last season we were spot on in our early analysis and preview of Mississippi State as a surprise team to watch. The Bulldogs simply went from unranked to No. 1 in the nation after a 9-0 start. We road the Bulldogs often including a huge Top Play winner as a 10-point underdog at LSU when they went wire-to-wire in a big win in their SEC opener.
This season the Georgia Bulldogs are the team to beat in the East, and the Bulldogs landed at No. 9 in the AP preseason poll. While I didn’t write a season preview on Georgia, you can get in-depth coverage by following the teams beat writers and other inside sources. Georgia running back Nick Chubb rushed for over 1,500 yards and 14 TDs in eight starts as a freshman last season, and Chubb eyes another big season in 2015.
As a media member, I have a list of all the beat writers, journalists and insiders who covers every college football team and all their Twitter accounts. This article is from one of the Georgia Bulldogs beat writers who notes more that more than the QB job will be on the line in the ‘Dawgs final scrimmage.
Note Georgia, South Carolina and Florida from the East introduce new quarterbacks this year, along with Ole Miss, Alabama and Auburn in the West. Florida will start the season with a two-quarterback rotation.
The team links below take you to the SEC East season preview with betting futures odds and win total. I work within a guideline and format to provide insight, info and analysis. But writing these team previews is just part of the research we do in preparation for the regular season. These previews are a guideline and general information overview, but the important part begins in the regular season when we analyze and interpret the information weekly to provide point spread winners.
Bur remember, these and all the season previews you read from various pundits become somewhat irrelevant as teams battle through the regular season. And note too that there are always season surprises and disappointments for teams and it’s important to make adjustments and not get too attached to previews or expectations before the season. After all, just two seasons ago, SEC West entrant Auburn went from a 0-8 SEC regular season in 2012 to the national title game in 2013 and nobody predicted anything close to that success prior to the season.
So as we continue with our preparation, we’ll continue to do our weekly statistical, situational and fundamental analysis and uncover additional information in our research, analysis and pursuit of profit. While the access to information is more readily available, and technology and social media provide instant access to additional information, there is much more to uncover and understand. The ability to interpret information and have insight and experience in the betting market provides us a competitive advantage and edge as we prepare and position ourselves for positive results throughout the season
Best wishes as your prepare, wager and win this football season and enjoy the information we provide along the way.
