Ole Miss at Missouri Game Analysis
Missouri in 4-way tie for 3rd place while Ole Miss Struggles to Close out Season to Forget
Tuesday, Feb. 20
Ole Miss at Missouri (-7.5) – what’s going on here? Line dropped 2 points to 7.5 despite Ole Miss’ questionable cohesion and focus with solid outgoing coach Andy Kennedy, who decided to step aside for good following Sunday’s game. Assistant Tony Madlock takes over but it’s a tough situation in the locker room for a Rebels group that has not responded well. Ole Miss (4-10) is last in SEC while Mizzu (8-6) is still pushing for 3rd place with a strong home court (12-2). Did i mention Ole Miss is winless on the road this season (0-9)? Missouri is stronger offensive efficiency, superior defense and Tigers are strong perimeter shooting team (#2 in SEC) that can hit the 3’s while Ole Miss lacks size and shooting is spotty, ranking #13 in SEC with its 3-guard lineup. Missouri 6-11 forward Jontay Porter had a season high 18 points and 13 rebounds in the first meeting at Ole Miss, and along with a bounce back effort by 6-10 big man Jeremiah Tillman following dehydration and poor play in 1-point loss at LSU last game, Missouri should be scoring inside and out with senior guard Kassius Robertson a top-5 SEC scorer who poured in 27 points against Ole Miss Feb. 6. With wins over all the top SEC teams at home not named Auburn, and Ole Miss on a 0-7 SU/ATS slide that includes a 75-69 loss to these Tigers, it should be a Missouri mauling over towel-tossing Ole Miss.
