Miami Hurricanes Huge Favorite Over Florida Atlantic in Opener
Top ACC Coastal contender and more Miami wins this season
Florida Atlantic at Miami, FLLine Miami -31.5 Total 53.5
Florida Atlantic moves to Conference USA following a 3-9 SU season in the Sun Belt. The Owls did produce profit last season at 8-4 ATS including 6-1 ATS as road ‘Dog, but they are over-matched in this contest. Still, will Miami blow through the Owls like a Hurricane with a big state rival Florida on deck next week? Miami head coach Al Golden is solid and the Hurricanes will improve greatly on a 7-5 season a year ago. With at least 18 starters returning and a strong, cohesive offense with senior QB Morris, Miami will likely exceed their 31 ppg and 440 ypg production from a year ago. But note the dreadful Hurricanes defense allowed 30 ppg and over 485 ypg last season.
I’m still trying to figure out how they went 9-3 ATS last season with that defense, but they can roll in this opener if they wish yet the situation does not suggest their best effort. NCAA bowl-ban removed and Miami is a team to watch and top ACC Coastal contender this season.
