NFL 2025 Raiders-Colts Week 5 Preview And Picks
The first Sunday of October is Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season, and the Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) enter on a 3-game losing streak to tackle the Indianapolis Colts (3-1). Check out my Raiders-Colts Week 5 update and pick below.
The Raiders blew last week’s game to the Chicago Bears. A blocked 53-yard field goal on the last play of the game was not the only issue for the Raiders in a 25-24 defeat. Three INT’s by QB Geno Smith were troublesome, and now 7 interceptions this season for Smith. But the Raiders had a winning formula, rushing for 240 yards with rookie RB Ashton Jeanty going for 138 yards on 21 carries and 3 TD’s (2 receiving). The Raiders ran 12 more plays than the Bears and outgained Chicago 357-271 with a 6.9 to 4.2 yards per play advantage. The Raiders should not lose those games, especially when the Silver and Black defense played perhaps their best half of football since moving to Las Vegas in 2020, dominating the first half with Max Crosby a wrecking ball again.
Note: There has been a steady increase in running back carries per game every week this season. Sharp Football adds that in Week 4, each team averaged 22.4 running back attempts, which has now increased by more than 2 attempts per team since the opening week of the season.
I’m including select weekly picks and opinions on Raiders games after a winning pick in Week 1 over the Patriots, and Week 2 Lean on the Chargers in LA’s 21-9 win in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Raiders at Indianapolis Colts
Spread: Colts (-7), Game total 46.5
Opinion: Raiders and Over
Despite missing their top offensive lineman (K. Miller) and TE (B. Bowers) this week, we’ll lean the Raiders way with an opinion.
Other notes on key players making an impact.
Raiders rookie RB Ashton Jeanty forced nine missed tackles and piled up 123 yards after contact in Week 4, thriving in outside zone. Colts rookie TE Tyler Warren continues to shine, leading his position with 2.35 yards per route run.
From Las Vegas Raiders reporter and handicapper Case Keefer, who leans the Colts way in the Raiders-Colts Week 5 contest.
As if they don’t have enough struggles to address with their overall underperformance, the Raiders will likely be without their only offensive lineman who’s played consistently well, Kolton Miller, and their only cornerback who’s played consistently well, Eric Stokes. The Colts arguably outplayed the Rams last week and are a moment or two away from being undefeated and even more the talk of the league.
