Open Championship 2025 Golf Odds, Picks And Preview

The final major of the PGA season is the annual British Open. Dunluce Links at Royal Portrush will play host to The 153rd Open, and my early preview of The Open Championship 2025 event is available at Off Shore Gaming Association.

This year’s championship at Royal Portrush plays to 7,381 yards and par 71. The canvas is “visually stunning, but extremely demanding. It is the essence of links golf in the Emerald Isle.”

Open Championship 2025

While I do bet outrights, finish position and more match-ups, I don’t always bet every player in my picks. But I do bet others that may be after I post and dig into more stats and other performance indicators and players. It may be due to low odds, adjusted odds and I missed best number, or just trying to find other options in finishing position, match-ups and props. As I’m able to dig deeper and research and handicap more, I add others, including match-ups. Time constraints factor in, along with odds and value, which you should always be shooting for in your pursuit of profit, fairways and greens.

British Open Picks

Fairway’s Favorites: McIlroy, Fleetwood, Hatton, Rahm
Fairway’s Longshots: Fox, Scott, Day, Im, Westwood

Early update and post on OSGA: Keep in mind that shot-making and stats on standard PGA Tour courses do not necessarily translate as well for players on The Open. But every British Open winner since 2012 has ranked in the Top 40 of the OWGR. That includes a player we cashed in on at the 2025 U.S. Open who was tied for the lead in the closing holes, and he’s more Taylor-Made for the links challenge ahead at Portrush. Tyrrell Hatton plays on LIV Golf tour, but is still No. 23 in the world rankings despite only qualifying for points in the Majors. He’s on our early card to win and evaluating more in matchups.

Tournament Match-ups: McIlroy (+142) over Scheffler (-172) and Fleetwood (-115) over DeChambeau (-105). Potentially more matchups posted as researched, along with picks and props.

PGA tournament matchups winners posted in Forbes from Jan-April include 2-0 in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am with tournament winner Rory McIlroy over Scottie Scheffler. Phoenix Open followers of FairwayJay went 1-0 with Justin Thomas (T6) over Hideki Matsuyama plus Justin Thomas over Xander Schauffele in The Players Championship, 1-0 in the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld and Houston Open winner Min Woo Lee also a tournament matchup winner. The Masters outright winner Rory McIlroy was another matchup winner over Scottie Scheffler as a big plus underdog again. Daniel Berger was the winner (1-0) in our RBC Heritage matchup at Harbour Town. A 2-0 tournament matchup result in the Truist Championship with both picks Mitchell and Cantlay winning easily and performing very well with top 10 finishes. Canadian Open winner (1-0) on Burns as underdog, and he finished runner-up in a playoff behind our outright winner on big longshot Ryan Fox. The 2025 U.S. Open included a 4-0-1 result on Tournament matchups at OSGA, and 4-2-1 on these pages including a big ‘Dog (+180) first round winner on Morikawa over Scheffler.
