Evaluating Late Season Totals and Profiting Between Class A Teams

Late season NBA requires not only match-up analysis and situational profiles with proven success, but an understanding of motivation, letdown and schedule situations as teams push for the playoffs and others prepare for the playoffs with their seed secure.

I utilize many proven profiles in the playoffs that match Class A teams – those with a winning percentage of 64% or greater.  These teams often have a strong defensive profile and use that intensity and defensive dominance to get more victories.

There are some solid spots to play over the total between non-playoff teams in the final week of the regular season, but as my research shows, there is also plenty of profit to be made playing under the total when Class A teams meet in the late stages of the regular season.

In late season regular season games in April, excluding the last 2 games (potential rest for some players), playing under the total between Class A teams with a home favorite nets a big return with better than 64% playing under the total.

On April 3, this situation cashed as Oklahoma City beat San Antonio 106-94 to stay under the total of 208 and snap the Spurs 19-game winning streak.  On March 31, the under delivered another winner between Class A teams as San Antonio pounded the Pacers at Indiana 103-77 to stay under the total of 188 (not a qualifier for April, but another solid late season play and example between Class A teams).
