Aloha as the new year tees off in Hawaii for the PGA Tour’s Sentry Tournament of Champions 2024. I chip-in some coverage, picks, tips, stats and preview in my golf coverage in Forbes, where some of my contacts and sports betting colleagues, handicappers and golf analysts chip in additional picks and tips with added information you can bet on.
This year’s TOC field includes 59 players, down from 39 last year, but not World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, or No. 3 Jon Rahm, who left for LIV Golf. The new eligibility criteria including all players that finished within the top 50 of the 2023 FedEx Cup rankings as well as past winners.
The Plantation Course at Kapalua has had the easiest scoring average on the PGA Tour each of the last three years covering more than 50 courses each year. The SuperBook Las Vegas has posted a 72-hole winning score of 265.5 on the Par 73 course.
With more wind projected this year on the 7,596 yard Plantation Course (Par 73) in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii, scores may not reach -27 below par, which won last year’s TOC when Jon Rahm rallied from 7 shots back in the final round to fire a 63 and overtake second and third round leader, Collin Morikawa.

More than a decade ago I was a lead golf handicapper and analyst on a popular sports handicapping radio show out of Las Vegas whose picks were provided to a betting syndicate. I continue my golf coverage in a different format, and provide my experience and intuitive feel for the game and betting acumen to provide golf picks and chip-in added insight with information you can bet on.
This season, I’ll again shoot to add more Round 1 matchup bets. I will limit tournament matchups posted on these pages, but have more available to those bettors that chip-in and wish to correspond with me directly. You can email me at [email protected] for more picks and information you can bet on. Having been a proven performer for decades, I’ve posted picks in 2021 and 2022 on Vegas Sports Zone and tournament match-ups were 41-27.
2022 PGA Tour tournament match-up picks finished 20-12 and concluded with the TOUR Championship.
The 2021 tournament match-ups finished 21-15 following a 17-5 start January through May.
