NFL Betting Podcast Week 16 with @FairwayJay

Another big scoring week as week 15 games averaged 52 PPG and over/under totals went 10-6.  That despite weather issues in some locations, which is a factor again as we break down the games on the NFL Betting Podcast Week 16.  Be sure to check the weather in many locations this week and make your wagers accordingly and in advance as needed with rain and stronger winds projected in many NFL locations.

This week we look ahead to the week 16 match-ups and again try to evaluate and analyze point-of-attack play and which teams can control the ball, clock and chains in contests that dictate such play.  In week 14, teams than rushed the ball at least 30 times went 8-1 ATS.  In week 15, they went those 30+ rushers went 9-1 ATS.  Teams that rushed the ball 20 times or less are 1-12-1 ATS the past two weeks.  In week 15, teams that out-rushed their opponent by 30 or more yards went 9-1-1 ATS.

Key match-ups in week 16 with playoff implications include:

New Orleans at Carolina. Both teams 10-4 and tied on top the NF C South division. A Saints win secures the division title and first-round bye in the playoffs.A Panthers victory puts them in position to win the division the following week and get the first-round bye.

Chicago at Philadelphia.  Both teams are 8-6 and have taken the lead in their NFC divisions; the Eagles by one game and the Bears by 1/2 game.  Neither team will get a wild card, so this is a key game for both teams playoff hopes.

New England at Baltimore.  Following a big Monday Night win at Detroit, the Ravens can win the AFC North with a victory over the Patriots and win next week at Cincinnati. New England secures the #2 seed and potentially #1 seed with a win at Baltimore and home victory over Buffalo next week.

The Dolphins, Chargers, Cowboys, Packers, Lions and Cardinals are all chasing a playoff spot while the Broncos and Chiefs are both 11-3 and battling for the AFC West title and #1 seed.
