There is no cut in WGC events, so keep that in mind as you evaluate the players and consider your tournament match-up plays.

The over/under winning score is 273.5. The advance weather looks ideal with 80’s temps, sunny skies and little wind. The course has added distance, and will play longer than the listed yardage, and more likely greater than 7,600 yards.
Concession is a private club. It’s a shot makers course with precision and placement required. The course is in immaculate condition, and there are many thought-provoking strategic challenges winding around wetlands with water in play on several of the holes.
Players will carry shots into the well-guarded greens that sit up and offer few run ups into the larger putting surfaces. The greens feature some of the most complex undulations the players will see on Tour, and good preparation for The Masters at Augusta. There are quadrants and ridges and slopes and a lot of false fronts. Normally lightning fast greens, but reports are they are dialed back just a bit and run close to 12.5 on the stimpmeter.
Key Stats
The course is long, so distance matters. There will likely be more three putts on these difficult greens complexes, so taking a look at 3-Putt Avoidance may assist you as well. As a first time course on tour, there is no course or event history, so comparing to other WGC events is mostly useless. Take a more cautious approach perhaps, and adjust during rounds as you see how players perform. Here are some stats worth research and we’ll update and chip-in more.
- SG: Approach
- SG: Putting (Bermuda)
- SG: Off the Tee and Distance
- Par 3 Scoring: 200+
- Birdies or Better Gained
Comparison courses include:
- PGA National and Valhalla (both Nicklaus designs), Bay Hill, Trump National at Doral, Quail Hollow, TPC Louisiana, Augusta, Kapalua
- Comp Courses (Around The Green): Augusta, Kapalua, Memorial Park, Winged Foot (for large undulated greens)

Next week it’s the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill for the first tournament in March, followed by THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass, which was cut short after one round last year due to the pandemic that hit the U.S.
Update: Collin Morikawa (-18) wins WGC at +4500 odds as one of our Golfers to Watch. Tournament match-ups 2-0-1. Hovland (T2) finished top-5, McIlroy (T6) top 10 to win both our posted match-ups. Zalatoris (T22) makes double-bogey on final hole Sunday at No. 18 to push our third match-up.
