AT&T Pebble Beach Odds: Betting Tips And Golfers To Watch
The Tour continues to the paradise that is Pebble Beach. No Pro-Am this week, and only Spyglass as the second course for one round on Thursday and Friday. A weaker field this week as the pros adjust their schedule ahead of Riviera, World Golf Championships, Arnold Palmer Invitational and the PLAYERS Championship the next four weeks.
My early AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am preview at TheLines has odds of top players with Patrick Cantlay (+750) the favorite after Dustin Johnson withdrew on Monday. Only Daniel Berger (+1400) and Paul Casey (+1400) join Cantlay as Top 20 players in the World Golf Rankings.
Jason Day (+2000), however, is a popular pick and leading contender as he’s finished Top 5 in this event each of the last four years with golf stats data also showing Day’s Strokes Gained profile among the very best in this field with SG: Total No. 3 and top 10 in key stats Off-the-Tee, Ball Striking, Tee-to-Green and Around the Green, per Fantasy National. Jason Day is a popular trend pick and most talked about golfer this week via FanShare‘s data, research and newsfeed.

Pebble Beach has been the host of six US Open tournaments. The most recent was in 2019, won by Gary Woodland. The course is set on craggy cliffs above Carmel Bay. Eight of the holes skirt the coastline, and it’s these holes that distinguish Pebble Beach. The tiny greens average near 3,500 square feet, which is the smallest on the PGA Tour. You’ll want to check the stats for players that perform well on Poa annua, and are strong on approach play into greens. Power is not a prerequisite when playing Pebble Beach, and generous fairways allow for more lies in the short grass to attack the smaller greens.
Players that have won in recent years or contended have been among the leaders in Strokes Gained: Approach, and had strong weeks hitting greens and putting.
GOLFERS TO WATCH
I chip-in more insight and information you can bet on with Golfers to Watch – or those players beyond the top 8-10 favorites who are often +3000 or greater. You can bet them to win outright, but a better percentage play is top finishing position bets of Top 5, 10, 20 or even Top 30.
Here are some golfers I’ve targeted for this week’s event at Pebble Beach. Odds listed are taken from leading online sportsbooks with the best odds at time of posting from William Hill, BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel, SuperBook and Circa Las Vegas.
- Kevin Streelman (+3700)
- Max Homa (+4000)
- James Hahn (+8000)
- Mark Hubbard (+10000)
Last week Russell Henley had a Top 30 finish as a golfer to watch at the Phoenix Open, but more importantly cashed our tournament match-up winner.
You can read analysis on our Golfers to Watch in my AT&T Pebble Beach preview at TheLines, but I’ve included one below.
Max Homa (+4000 BetMGM/DraftKings): The 30-year-old Cal-Berkeley grad looks ready for a breakthrough. Homa has finished T14 and T10 in this event the last two years, and event history and performances at Pebble (and Spyglass) matter a little more in this tournament than most others. Homa’s Ball Striking and Approach play stats have been best over his last four tournaments since December, which includes three top 21 finishes. His Scrambling and Around the Green games still needs much improvement, which will come into play if he’s missing the small greens at Pebble. Homa returns to preferred Poa greens, and if he can get the flat stick going after costing him higher finishes the last two events, then he’ll be a factor.
This page will be updated prior to the tournament with match-up plays.
Be sure to check back and follow on Twitter, as we Fire for Birdies and I post periodic Round-by-Round matchup plays. Those were 2-for-2 in the Farmers Insurance Open, and happened to include Max Homa.
Players to Win and Top Finishing Position (Top 5, 10, 20)
Fairway’s Favorites: Patrick Cantlay, Jason Day, Kevin Streelman
Fairway’s Longshots: James Hahn, Max Homa, Mark Hubbard. Matthew NeSmith
Tournament Match-ups: Pass
Wednesday was a tough day off the course, and some medical issues to attend. So passing on match-ups without proper prep.
Firing for Birdies and Scrambling to save Par. See you on the traveling PGA Tour with four big tournaments ahead.
