Super Bowl 55 Betting And Market Report
Super Bowl 55 has arrived and the big bets are coming in. That includes $2.3 million on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3.5) at BetMGM. The Kansas City Chiefs are now a 3-point favorite, and I provide sportsbook and market data from my contacts. Check out my Super Bowl 55 market report in my update at TheLines.
While a majority of bets and money are on the Kansas City Chiefs, there will be the largest amount of wagering activity this weekend leading up to kickoff.
“Super Bowl odds have been up for nearly two weeks but 90 percent of all bets on the big game will be placed this weekend,” BetMGM Vice President of Trading Jason Scott told me in an email. “We’re projecting to have eight-figures in handle on the Super Bowl this year.”
My Super Bowl 55 feature in Forbes had additional comments from FanDuel sportsbook director of risk and trading, John Sheeran.
“We’re expecting between three to four times the handle that we took last year,” Sheeran said.
PointsBet informed me that 90% of the point spread handle is on the Chiefs. However, DraftKings Sportsbook shows a 50/50 split on the spread handle (money bet) with nearly 70% of the actual bets on the Chiefs. More than 70% of the totals handle and bets are taking Over 56 points to be scored between the Buccaneers and Chiefs.
William Hill US has added their betting data, and Director of Trading Nick Bogdanovich noted, “I think it’ll close 3, I don’t see us getting to 3.5. That’d be my bet,” Bogdanovich said. “We’re still high on the Chiefs with the points, but I’m not really surprised the Bucs are getting most of the moneyline bets.”
The Chiefs have captured 66% of the total number of tickets and 76% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets in Super Bowl 55, William Hill reported Friday before gameday.

Tons of prop bets and other information you can bet on at the leading online sportsbooks. I correspond with many of them, and also provide more Super Bowl content for FanDuel and TheDuel. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (-105) is the favorite to win Super Bowl 55 MVP, and he is the most popular player in prop bets. While I provide insight on many players and props, I have not wagered on many of them as I make final plans and evaluate the adjusting numbers prior to kickoff.
