Odds Suggest Tiz The Law Is The Next Kentucky Derby Winner
Tiz The Law Will Have Lowest Odds to Win Kentucky Derby Since 1992
The Kentucky Derby is Saturday, Sept.5 and the 2020 Derby could set wagering records despite no spectators or fans and Churchill Downs during the Covid-19 health crisis. Tiz the Law will be an overshelming favorite to capture the Roses at the 2020 Kentucky Derby. But Tiz the Law is not a sure thing, and horse racing can throw you off track just like the unprescedented and most unusal times we’re living in during the coronavirus crisis.
But at least we have a Kentucky Derby to enjoy, and despite months of delay, the Run for the Roses and pagentry surrounding America’s greatest horse race is near the starting gate. NBC will carry a 5-hour broadcast starting at 2:30 pm ET covering other weekend horse racing and graded stakes races at Churchill Downs leading into the 2020 Kentucky Derby at 7:00 pm ET.
The post position draw for the 146th running of the Kentucky Derby is Tues., Sept. 1 at 11:00 am ET and can be seen via live streaming at KentuckyDerby.com. The pari-mutuel odds and morning line will be released immediately following the draw for post position.
However, selected sportsbooks have posted fixed odds on the Kentucky Derby and Circa Sports in Las Vegas has Tiz the Law at -110, which is down from +220 just two weeks ago.

Six straight post time favorites won the Kentucky Derby from 2013-2018 when the new points system was implemented with the dozens of Derby prep races to determing the field up to 20 runners. The controversial finish and disqualification of Maximum Security prevented a seventh straight winner as favorite, but bettors are backing Tiz the Law at the lowest odds since Point Given (1.80 – 1) finished fifth as the favorite in the 2001 Kentucky Derby.
