2020 NHL Playoffs: Golden Knights Stanley Cup Favorites

Vegas Golden Knights Lead Black Hawks 3-1 in Opening Series

The playoff win streak ended Sunday when the Golden Knights suffered their first loss follwing six straight wins including the round robin. The top-seeded Vegas Golden Knights will try to shut the door on the Chcago Black Hawks Tuesday, Aug. 18 leading the the quarterfinals series 3-1.

You can follow and review the daily NHL Playoffs match-ups at TheLines, and review the updated series and Stanley Cup odds. Vegas (+379) is currently the consensus Stanley Cup favorite followed by Colorado (+453), Tampay Bay (+491), Boston (+564) and Philadelphia (+583).

Vegas opened the Stanley Cup playoffs at +550 as the top seed in the West. Philadelphia (+600) was next after the Flyers also swept through the round robin 3-0 in the East as the bottom seed.

I chipped in at TheLines with with more odds, insight and information you can bet on for the Golden Knights and Flyers ahead of their opening round match-ups.

The New York Islanders are the biggest mover in the Stanley Cup odds, now +872 holding a 3-0 series lead over the Washington Capitals. The Islanders (+140) look like the next team to pull off a series upset following four notable qualifying round upsets.

“There will be more upsets as the playoffs continue,” noted sports bettor and NHL expert Sherwood told me as reported at TheLines.

The odds don’t say Chicago will pull of the upset, but betting on Vegas at this -7000 price is now a worthy wager to say the least. BetMGM has -10000 favoring the Golden Knights to advance leading the series 3-1.

With Arizona trailing 3-1 against Colorado and unlikely to advance while getting outplayed badly, the Golden Knights would play one of three teams next round. If Calgary beats Dallas (tied 2-2), the it’s the Flames vs. the Golden Knights. If the Stars advance, then Vegas plays the winner of the Blues and Canucks, and that series is also tied 2-2.
