NFL Week 1 Odds Following 2020 Schedule Release

NFL Schedule And Week 1 Odds Provide Plenty Of Interest

The NFL released the 2020 schedule for all teams May 7, and in my article at Forbes, I outline some of the marquee match-up included in the schedule release along with Week 1 lines and totals that were posted immediately following the schedule release.

The opening prime time game in Week 1 is Thursday, Sept. 10 with the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans. The Chiefs are the biggest favorite in Week 1 action laying 10.5 points on the opening lines from FoxBet and the Westgate Superbook. Both FanDuel and William Hill made the Chiefs a 10-point favorite.

Tennessee at Denver (Mon) Broncos -3 Broncos -2.5 41.5

Las Vegas bookmakers William Hill and Westgate SuperBook also posted Week 1 lines, and you can bet these now through mobile apps and compare the lines and adjustments in the months ahead leading into what we all hope is a start of the 2020 regular season near Labor Day.

Following the free agent frenzy that caused a shakeup in the Super Bowl odds and some of the regular season win totals, the NFL Draft produced winners and losers and a record interest in prop bets. Week 1 is unique in that the betting lines are posted many months in advance, which creates more interest and discussion in the NFL. The lines and totals adjust, and bettors have plenty of time to evaluate all the teams, match-ups and lines and also shop and compare lines at leading online sportsbooks.

By the way, a long betting streak is coming to an end in Week 1. Quarterback Tom Brady has been favored in his last 74 regular season starts, an NFL record. The Buccaneers and Brady opened a 6.5 point underdog at New Orleans and were quickly moved to +4.5 with other sportsbooks posting that number.

The SuperBook also posted Week 2 betting lines, and the Monday night home opener for the Las Vegas Raiders at their new Allegiant Stadium has the Saints a 4-point road favorite. That’s going to be a night and event to look forward to in Las Vegas.

You can bet on it.
