2022 TOUR Championship Odds And Bets

Just 30 PGA pros remain in the quest for the FedExCup. But only a handful have a shot to win the $18 million bonus prize for first place prize at the 2022 TOUR Championship. The modified and staggered strokes-based scoring system (FedEx Starting Stokes) adds a wrinkle to the scoring for the fourth straight year. This year’s leader is Scottie Scheffler followed by reigning FedEx Cup champion Patrick Cantlay, who won last week’s BMW Championship.

In last week’s BMW Championship event, we cashed another tournament match-up. The posted tourney match-ups are now 20-11 this year.

2022 Tour Championship Odds

With Scottie Scheffler (+200) starting at -10 under par and Patrick Cantlay (+380) -8 under par, they are the favorites to win the FedEx Cup and $18 million bonus money. Will Zalatoris (-7) will miss the TOUR Championship with two herniated disks in his back. So Xander Schauffle (-6) at +650 and Sam Burns (-5) are the next closest contenders in the starting strokes format. But Burns is +2000 to win the FedEx Cup, per odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Some sportsbooks including FanDuel will offer 72-hole lowest score odds. Rory McIlroy (+600) is the favorite and has been bet down to lower odds. Jon Rahm (+700), Xander Schauffele (+800) are next followed by Scottie Scheffler (+1200), Justin Thomas (+1200) and Patrick Cantlay (+1200) to post the low 72-hole score.

The odds continue to change, and you can read more of my 2022 Tour Championship coverage in my update for Forbes.

If you’re considering a dark horse or other golfers to add to your top finishing position and prop bets, I chip-in more coverage for FanDuel and The Duel Sports.

Viktor Hovland (+2700) makes his third appearance at East Lake, and he made major strides last year finishing T-5 at -11 under par. He shot an opening round 66 and closed with a 65 on Sunday. Hovland’s Strokes Gained stats vs this field show him ranked top-3 in Tee-to-Green, Ball Striking and Approach play. The 24-year-old from Norway has been putting much better this summer after the flat stick let him down previously at East Lake. A good week on the greens and he’s a contender.

Our tournament match-up came up 2-shots short after Hovland spotted Niemann 7-shots after Round 1. The PGA Tour posted tournament matchups finished 20-12 in 2022 for a second-straight winning year.
